Hopewell
General Baptist Church
Mission/Vision

|
Mission Statement
The purpose of Hopewell General Baptist Church is to practice the Great
Commission (Mathew 28:18-20) through leading people to a life-changing
faith in Christ and then teaching for understanding of God's Word and
its application to lives. We will express loving care in our
relationships with friends, relatives, associates and neighbors in our
church and throughout our community. We will honor God through worship,
prayer, generous giving, and consistent outreach, including home and
foreign missionary interest. We anticipate increasing involvement and
commitment to God and the church as we recognize and practice our
individual and collective ministries
Worship
Our vision is to provide the kind of worship experience where God is
glorified and his children edified. We envision worship that is
genuinely spiritual and broadly participated in that takes place in a
warm and friendly atmosphere. We envision our worship including
uplifting activities such as joyful celebration and enthusiastic praise,
contemporary as well as traditional singing, intercessory prayer, life
related preaching, and other experiences that would lead to an honest
expression of worship.
Education
Our vision for Christian Education is to take place in a well organized
environment where an adequate staff of dedicated and enthusiastic
teachers and officers are sufficiently trained and properly equipped to
lead students in all age groups in the learning process using materials
and methods that are interesting and relevant to the students. It is our
vision to provide Christian Education through means such as various
Bible studies, discipleship and leadership training, issue oriented/life
related elective courses, and a church training program.
Evangelism
Our vision is to be evangelistic individually and congregationally. We
envision being intentionally evangelistic in everything we do as a part
of our Christian life while focusing on those within our spheres of
influence who are unsaved, unchurched, or looking for a new church home.
It is our vision to have individuals practicing "life style" evangelism
and to congregationally implement outreach programs, activities, and
ministries appropriate to meet the needs of our community.
Membership
We envision a numerically and spiritually growing membership. It is our
vision to see membership grow to 400 with a large percentage of the
members regularly attending and actively participating in the ministries
of the church.
Facilities
It is our vision to have facilities appropriate for all the ministry
needs of our church. We envision identifiable, attractive, and inviting
facilities, that are accessible, spacious, comfortable, and convenient
to all. Our vision is to expand and/or remodel existing facilities and
to construct new facilities, such as a Christian Life Center, to
accommodate the needs of a numerically, spiritually, and socially
growing church.
Membership Involvement
We envision the active participation of 75% of all individuals regularly
attending our church in some role of task with at least 25% of those
involved in some Class II/outreach activities. It is our vision to see
that every individual has the opportunity to identify, develop, and
utilize their God given spiritual gifts. Our vision is to provide a
proper framework for the cooperation, communication, and care of all
workers within the church.
Staff
It is our vision to expand the staff according to ministry needs and
appropriate to the size of the congregation. We envision ministering
more effectively to special need areas such as youth ministries, through
the addition of ministerial staff members.
